TECCELL: A Honeycomb Core Born from the World’s First Continuous Thermoplastic Molding Technology
A honeycomb core is a structure composed of hexagonal cells and is regarded as one of the most efficient sandwich core materials in terms of mechanical performance.
Honeycomb structures, formed by sandwiching this beehive-like core between two sheets, have long been recognized for their outstanding combination of high strength, rigidity, and light weight. However, due to the complexity of the manufacturing process and limited productivity, their applications were mainly limited to advanced industries, particularly the aerospace sector.
Through technological collaboration with overseas companies, we pioneered the world’s first continuous molding technology for honeycomb structures using thermoplastic resins.
TECCELL
TECCELL is a lightweight yet strong material with a honeycomb structure. It was developed using the world’s first continuous forming technology for honeycomb structures made from thermoplastic resin.
In the past, honeycomb core materials were used mainly in advanced industries due to their limited productivity. Since the launch of TECCELL in 2009, however, these materials have expanded into a wide range of applications, contributing to weight reduction and energy savings in various products.
