Company History

1953

April – Gifu Plastic Industry was founded in Kubomi, Gifu City, by its first president, Koei Omatsu.
June – The company’s first machine, a 2-ounce vertical molding machine, was installed.
November – The company made its first shipment: a compact case. It also began manufacturing and selling household goods and sundries.

1957

April – The “RISU” trademark was established.

1968

Pickling casks were launched.

1969

Cleaning supplies and “GK Containers” were launched.

1972

The “Tres Bien” tabletop item series was launched.

1975

December – The head office was relocated to the Dai Gifu Building in front of Gifu Station in Kanda-machi, Gifu City.

1976

The “TOP CASE” storage item series was launched.

1984

The “Croissant” bathroom item series was launched.

1986

January – RISU Co., Ltd. was established.

1988

May – Toshiyuki Omatsu assumed the position of President and Representative Director.

1989

March – The current “RISU” logo was established.

1993

The “BERC” sorting waste container was launched.

1997

The “PASSE” kitchen utensil series was launched.

2005

March – The company was separated into Risu Co., Ltd. and Risu Joint Products Co., Ltd.

2009

The “STABIALUX” kitchenware series was launched.

2010

September – “Container Style II” received the Good Design Award.

2011

April – The “Caster Pail” wheeled waste container was launched.
September – Biodegradable waste containers were launched.

2012

January – The RISU Online Store opened on Rakuten Ichiba.
March – The “COOKING DISH” oven cooking container was launched.

2014

February – The “LIBERALISTA” series was launched.

2017

Odor-proof trash containers were launched.

2018

March – Eita Omatsu assumed the position of President and Representative Director, and Toshiyuki Omatsu assumed the role of Chairman.

History

History of RISU Plastic Group

Gifu Plastic Industry Co., Ltd. was founded in 1953, during the early days of Japan’s plastics industry. Since then, with the squirrel as our corporate symbol, we have continued to provide a wide range of plastic products across many fields, including household goods, logistics materials, food packaging containers, construction and civil engineering materials, sports equipment, industrial components, and medical-related products.
