1953
- Apr: Gifu Plastic Industry founded by its first president, Koei Omatsu, in Kubomi, Gifu City
- Jun: First machine (2-ounce vertical molding machine) installed
- Nov: First shipment (Compact Case) and launch of daily necessities and sundries business
1957
- Apr: Trademark "RISU" established
1959
- Nov: Installed vacuum molding machine [Start of Food Packaging Container Business]
1961
- Jan: Launch of "BONCUP" food packaging containers
1962–1964
- 1962 Jan: Kakamigahara Factory (Main Factory) completed and began operations
- 1963 Mar: Launch of PVC Joint Pipes [Start of Construction & Civil Engineering Materials Business]
- 1963 Sep: Launch of Bread Container [Start of Logistics Materials Business]
- 1964 Mar: Launch of "PLASKET"
1969–1975
- 1969 Jul: Fukuoka Factory completed and began operations
- 1970 Aug: Inuyama Factory completed and began operations
- 1971 Apr: Established Risu Kogyo Co., Ltd. and transferred construction material business
- 1973 Sep: Ehime Factory completed and began operations
- 1974 Apr: Hyogo Factory completed and began operations
- 1974 Dec: Gunma Factory completed and began operations
- 1975 Nov: Established Risupack Co., Ltd. and transferred food packaging business (Inuyama & Gunma)
- 1975 Dec: Head office relocated to Dai Gifu Building near Gifu Station
1981–1989
- 1981: Launch of Foldable Containers
- 1986 Jan: Established RISU Co., Ltd. and transferred daily goods business
- 1988 May: President Toshiyuki Omatsu assumed position of Representative Director
- 1989 Mar: Present "RISU" logo established
1990–1996
- 1990 Apr: Fukushima Factory completed and began operations
- 1990 May: Launch of Logistics Pallets
- 1993: Launch of Two-Colored Containers and Plastic Drums
- 1996: Launch of RS Foldable Containers
2004–2009
- 2004 Dec: Established Dai Gifu Building Co., Ltd.
- 2005 Feb: Launch of RISU-BOX
- 2005 Oct: Launch of "RISU MEDICAL TPF" for dialysis circuit manufacturers
- 2008 Dec: Yamanashi Factory completed and began operations
- 2009 Sep: Established continuous molding technology for honeycomb structures and started TECCELL business
2011–2013
- 2011 Feb: Established Japan Gifu Risu Ecological Goods Trading Co., Ltd. in Shanghai, China
- 2011 Aug: Toei Kanki made a subsidiary
- 2012 Feb: Launched logistics materials containing bio-derived materials
- 2013 Apr: Established TECCELL Division office in Ono-town, Ibi-gun, Gifu Prefecture
2015–2017
- 2015 Apr: Received Prize of the Commissioner of the Japan Patent Office (Intellectual Property Achievement Awards)
- 2015 Oct: Received METI Prize at the Sixth Monodzukuri Nippon Grand Awards (TECCELL)
- 2017 Mar: Launched honeycomb core panel "TECCELL SAINT"
- 2017 Dec: Designated as a Leading Company for Regional Development
2018–2019
- 2018 Mar: Eita Omatsu assumed position of President / Toshiyuki Omatsu became Chairman
- 2018 Dec: HASHIZUME TRANSPORT made a subsidiary
- 2019 Jan: Kurashiki Factory completed and began operations

Gifu Plastic Industry Co., Ltd. was founded in 1953, during the early days of Japan’s plastics industry. Since then, we have adopted the squirrel as our corporate symbol and have provided a wide range of plastic products across multiple sectors—including household goods, logistics materials, food packaging containers, construction and civil engineering materials, sports equipment, industrial components, and medical-related products.
