Plant-Based Products
Renewable : Food Packaging Container
In 2005, we commercialized salad containers made from a plant-based plastic called Polylactic Acid (PLA). Since then, starting with theier adoption at the "Expo 2005 Aichi Japan," we have developed containers suitable for various tempreture ranges, including not only salads but also lunch box (bento box), side dishes, and more.
As a result, the range of bio-based food containers has expanded to a total of 4200 items. (as of Oct 2023)
During the 17-day duration of the TOKYO 2020 Olympics and Paralympics held from July 23 to Augst 8, 2021, Risupack's PLA Salad Cups & Sandwich Packs were adopted for use by volunteer staff.
Our initiatives in utilizing bioplastics have been recognized and featured in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries' casebook on food container packaging contributing to plastic resource circulation.
