  • Gifu Plastic Industry founded by its first President Kouei Ohmatsu (Kubomi, Gifu City)
1956
  • Factory is relocated from Kubomi to Misato (Sei, Gifu City)
1957
  • Trademark "Risu" established
1962
  • Main factory is completed, operations commenced
1964
  • Launch of "Plas-ket"
1970
  • Head office relocated to former Misato factory
1973
  • Risu Northeast founded (Aomori Factory)
  • Risu Kyushu founded (now Fukuoka Factory)
  • Risu Shikoku founded (now Ehime Factory)
1974
  • Risu Osaka founded (now Hyogo Factory)
1975
  • Head Office relocated to Dai-Gifu Building in front of Gifu Station (Kanda-machi, Gifu City)
1981
  • Launch of "Foldable Container"
1985
  • Risu Engineering founded (injection-mold design & production)
1988
  • President Toshiyuki Ohmatsu assumes position of representative director
1989
  • Present "Risu" logo established
1990
  • Launch of "Pallet"
  • Gifu Daiichi founded (insurance agency)
  • Risu Kanto founded (now Fukushima Factory)

  • Ohmatsu Art Museum opened
1993
  • Launch of "Two-Color Container"
  • Tokyo Branch relocated to company owned Building (Chiyoda-ku)

  • Launch of "Plastic Drum"
  • GP Risu founded (Risu business)
1997
  • Launch of "RS Foldable Container"
  • Risu Kyushu, Shikoku, Osaka and Kanto merges with Gifu Plastic Industry

  • ISO9001 accreditation obtained

  • ISO14001 accreditation obtained

  • ISO9001 accreditation obtained by all factories
2002
  • Risu Engineering undergoes absorption-type merger
2004
  • ISO14001 accreditation obtained by all factories
  • Dai-Gifu Building founded
2005
  • New Head Office building (Dai-Gifu Building) completed
  • Launch of "Risu Box"
2006
  • Third Fukushima Factory completed
2007
  • Sublicense agreement signed with ITOCHU Corporation concerning use of honeycomb structure continuous forming technology (TECCELL) in logistics packaging
2008
  • Carbon offsetting commenced with regard to "Risu Box"
  • Yamanashi Pallet Factory completed; launch of "HB Pallet" & "Just size Palle"
2009
  • Ohmatsu Art Museum closed
  • Sublicense agreement signed with ITOCHU Corporation concerning use of honeycomb structure continuous forming technology (TECCELL) in all fields
  • Launch of "TECCELL"
  • ISO9001 and ISO14001 accreditation obtained by Yamanashi Pallet Factory
2011
  • Plastic honeycomb structure with flame retardant applications developed in partnership with Suminoe Textile
  • Toeikanki made into subsidiary
2012
  • Launch of "Bio Risu Pallet"
  • Collaboration and joint research into fiber-reinforced TECCELL with Kurabo
2013
  • TECCELL Office established in Ohno-cho, Ibi-gun, Gifu
  • Sixtieth Anniversary of the company´s foundation
  • Sixtieth Anniversary commemoration ceremony and address held in the Imperial Hotel Tokyo
